Enclave Release & Trailer

A new book was released yesterday, April 12, for YA dystopian lovers; a new series, Razorland, starts with Enclave by Ann Aguirre! Check out the trailer and be ready for an experience packed with zombies and action!
New York City has been decimated by war and plague, and most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves, where life expectancy is no more than the early 20's. When Deuce turns 15, she takes on her role as a Huntress, and is paired with Fade, a teenage Hunter who lived Topside as a young boy. When she and Fade discover that the neighboring enclave has been decimated by the tunnel monsters—or Freaks—who seem to be growing more organized, the elders refuse to listen to warnings. And when Deuce and Fade are exiled from the enclave, the girl born in darkness must survive in daylight, in the ruins of a city whose population has dwindled to a few dangerous gangs. As the two are guided by Fade’s long-ago memories, they face dangers, and feelings, unlike any they’ve ever known.

  1. On first glance, this reminded me a lot setting-wise of Metro 2033, a post-apocalyptic survival horror video game set mostly in the shattered metro system of Moscow. There are mutants, everything is dark and broken, the survivors have to scrounge and hunt to survive, etc...it's a very gritty, grim setting. The trailers for this game were incredibly haunting and scary.

I have to admit, I didn't know what the inclusion of a trailer meant. I thought it was also a TV series? But then realized it was for the book. Is that common now? :O I don't think I've ever seen a novel get a trailer, it's an interesting idea.

  2. I am pretty excited to read some dystopian books; I would like to run a macabre style of D&D game one day just not in a post-apocolyptic world. The dystopian genre is growing like wild fire these days.

Trailers are pretty common for a lot of books that are expected to be hot sellers. I've seen several and one of my favorite book series has a couple of different versions.

Just like movies have trailers to show you how awesome it might be, so to now do books; these just happen to be a little lower quality.
