This event is celebrated and promoted every National Library Week by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). They also host the teen choice awards of YA fiction. Last year's top choices had a couple titles that I knew, read, or recognized at the very least.

One of my favorite book series right now is the Artemis Fowl franchise, about a genius criminal mastermind and his adventures. Oh, and it's all about fairies who have advanced technology, but they're not like the fantasy pixie fairies of myth but like professional spy/soldiers. It's kinda weird, I guess, but I love them and buy every one as soon as they come out.
ReplyDeleteThe best part about this series is it was a completely random library find. I picked up the first book based entirely - 100%!! - off the name, "Artemis Fowl", because I thought it sounded cool. And now it's a favorite. :D Gotta love when things work out like that!
Oh, I have seen those in the bookstore! Looks like a series I would love to try, its been in the back of my mind given how length the series is :)
